I am an avid reader of personal development books. (Truth be told, I’m more often an avid audio listener versus reader. Either way, I consume A LOT of inspirational material!) The featured quotes in this post are from various authors that I find highly inspirational, and they certainly understand the importance of being kind to yourself.
Do your best to make sure the voices in your mind are kind – you deserve kindness. Criticizing yourself never feels good, so try to stop negative self talk before it snowballs and becomes a bigger problem in your mind. Love yourself, don’t bash yourself.
Do you ever catch yourself talking down about yourself? I know I do. Being your own best cheerleader is a much better choice than being your own best critic.
Look at mess-ups as an opportunity to grow into a better version of you. When negative thoughts about yourself come into your head, quickly refocus to a positive thought about yourself. See your strong points and be proud.
For example, the thought “I always overthink things and end up being late” can be kinder as “I’m good at thinking things through and I’m getting better at getting things done on time.”
Take time to celebrate your successes – big and small. Recognizing the good you do will help strengthen your inner voice that will help you become more confident. Here’s a quick read on how to become your own best cheerleader.
Know your strengths and then maximize them. Aspire to bring out the best in you so you can be your personal best! Monitor your own mind and be vigilant to being your own best self. Smile, be kind to yourself, and remember to laugh along the way.

From Amazon: You Can Heal Your Life is a true classic, with millions of copies in print worldwide. Louise’s key message here is that “if we are willing to do the mental work, almost anything can be healed.” She explains how limiting beliefs and ideas are often the cause of illness, and how you can change your thinking . . . and improve the quality of your life.
From Amazon: In Heal Your Body, Louise describes the methods she used to cure herself of cancer, which will help you discover patterns in your own ailments that reveal a lot about yourself. It offers positive new-thought patterns to replace negative emotions, an alphabetical chart of physical ailments with their probable causes, and healing affirmations so you can eliminate old patterns.
From Amazon: The Power Is Within You expands on Louise’s philosophy of “loving the self” and shows you how to overcome emotional barriers through learning to listen to your inner voice, loving the child within, and letting your true feelings surface. In these pages, Louise encourages readers to think of themselves positively and be more accepting of—and grateful for—who they are.
