Celebrate National Dog Day

Celebrate National Dog Day because dogs bring joy to our life!

Today is National Dog Day! A day designated for appreciating dogs and the good they do for human beings. Dogs are loyal without demanding the same, they find joy in the smallest things, and their love is completely unconditional.

As a dog owner, I can attest that dogs bring great joy to my life. They greet me at the door and are always happy to see me. Sometimes their silliness makes me laugh it lightens up my mood. Despite my mood, my dogs love me unconditionally. They also get me out for daily walks which helps keep me and them healthy.

Celebrate the great joys dogs bring us.Petting dogs is very calming and can be a real stress relief – and it calms the dogs, too. My dogs help my troubles disappear! It’s no surprise that hospitals and nursing homes use therapy dogs to help their patients. Some dogs are specially trained to help people with health issues, such as autism service dogs.

According to WebMD, pets positively impact our medical and emotional health:

People with pets are generally happier, more trusting, and less lonely than those who don’t have pets. They also visit the doctor less often for minor problems.

Think Adoption FirstIf you have a dog in your life, thank him with a belly rub and a “you’re a good boy/girl.” Of course a dog treat is always appreciated. No pet? Go to your local animal shelter and see if there’s a furry friend that you might adopt into your family!

Leave a comment telling everyone how dogs have brought joy to your life.
